Being the quintessential couple – Jerome and Evisha are classy, elegant, loving, romantic and funny, and their downtown Chicago wedding at the LaSalle hotel was magical!
According to Jerome’s side of the story, Evisha was stalking him in his Instagram DM’s, but Evisha’s story is a bit different. She did send him a message, but she thought he was a totally different person... A different chef altogether! Evisha was looking for a chef to work with her on a cookbook project, to cook for her birthday celebration and a chef to lead a culinary day at her school. They chatted a bit about meeting, but travels halted their initial meeting…at least they thought. Though they both live in the states, a planned business trip for him and a girl's trip for her landed them in Cabo San Lucas at the same time. A coincidence, I think not! The stars aligned perfectly for these two to meet. Three years later, they are Mr. and Mrs. Brown! Jerome said “he wasn’t looking for love in Cabo, but he found the love of his life. This was not a chance encounter; this was the favor of God.”
About their downtown Chicago wedding
Evisha wore a beautiful white beaded gown designed by Dovita. The meticulously beaded gown with a fully
embroidered overskirt brought all of the drama when Evisha walked down the aisle. When it was party time, the overskirt came off to make a completely different look. The bride's shoes made their own statement! Evisha wore a pair of pointy toe Jimmy Choo pumps covered in Swarovski crystals with a hand embroidered crystal cluster on the top! A nod to the wedding colors, Jerome wore a modern tuxedo with a twist on the traditional blazer. His blazer was a Navy Paisley with matching color satin lapels, black slacks and velvet dress shoes with gold embellishments to set off the look.
Jerome and Evisha’s wedding ceremony was a dream! Picture it – All white draping covered the full length of one wall in the ballroom, in front of that was a stage covered with an all-white, velvet stage cover with two covered, rounded stairs. The decor that stood out the most was the four-post structure that the couple stood under during the ceremony! It was a beautiful structure draped in white with Wisteria florals hanging from the top. The white draping was swagged (cinched) and a gorgeous, cascading floral piece hung from each post. The floral pieces consisted of white roses/floral greens/ blue dendrobium orchids and peacock feathers. (Evisha’s favorite colors are peacock colors, hence their color palette and the peacock feathers appeared in the centerpieces and her bouquet.) During the ceremony, the family did a salt ceremony - very similar to a sand ceremony, where they took their valves filled with gold salt and poured them into one, signifying the joining of two families becoming one.
SWITCH!!! A Reception Room Transformation To Rave About!
Here is where the vibe completely changed from a heavenly ceremony to a grown and sexy reception! Each table, including the bride and groom’s sweetheart table was covered in navy blue velvet linens, patterned napkins, high and low florals and three to four feet tall candelabras. The custom dance floor adorned with their hashtag - #BlissfullyBrown2023. The daylight faded away and the evening came upon us. The bright city lights peeking in through the windows and the uplighting glowing around the room set the tone for the evening. Marrying good food, fantastic cocktails, great music and a killer dance party, Jerome and Evisha’s wedding reception was one for the book!
